All servers located on Cluster8 became a RAM-Upgrade. Thats why the hostsystem had to be rebooted. You may now restart your server.

This morning we completed the move of all servers from Cluster9 to the new High-Performance Opteron-System (remember the earlier blog post). The move for each individual server took about 5 to 10 minutes. The last created backup was restored on the servers.

One important note for the affected servers:
If you used the plugin Server Neighborhood a reconfiguration might be neccessary because the gameserver IP has changed. The same for TM-Stats, if you linked it somewhere on your website.

Good news: We have just started upgrading all hostsystems to new 8-CPU-Opterons and a great bunch of more RAM. Since we will be introducing the new hardware step by step we will keep the old hostsystems alive for about 2 months. During this time all servers will be moved in a night time process.

We will start with the hostsystem CLUSTER9 during the next week (from Monday 16th). We encourage you to make a backup of all of your files and databases (even if it is not really necessary, cause it is an internal movement) - just to have a copy if disaster strikes.

Today we introduce a new feature for your Admin-Panel called Optional Updates. At the Xaseco/Xaseco2-Tab of your panel, you find a new column that tells you for each plugin if an optional update is available. If yes, simply click on Update and you will be redirected to the TMS-Installer where you can find all new files at the bottom.

We introduced this feature because we do not want to force you anymore using the latest versions. We know - reconfiguring the plugins makes a lot of work.

Please note: On updating a plugin, there are often changes on the configuration files. So if you previously made any changes on the old configs, restore the original files right after installing the update.

The makers of ManiaRecords disabled their service, that is why the ManiaRecords- and the Serverlink-Plugin will be removed from all TM2-Servers soon - Read the topic here: http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=28900

We strongly recommend to disable the ManiaRecords and the Serverlink-Plugin and use the Dedimania-Plugin instead. Please read the detailed Wiki-Pages on how to activate it: http://trackmaniaserver.org/wiki/index.php/Configure_Dedimania_for_Xaseco2

You should disable the ManiaRecords and the Serverlink-Plugin as soon as possible.

If you integrated ManiaRecords into your Records-Eyepiece, undo these changes, otherwise Xaseco will not start after disabeling ManiaRecords.

If you want to add your own messages (just like the [INFO]-Messages from Xaseco), you may use the ChatMessageBot that is available for TMF and TM2.
The plugin is available as TMS-File and can be installed via the TMS-Installer at your Admin-Panel

We just added a new feature for you: The TMS-Installer! The installer allows you to install more plugins on your server (even those that are not in the list).

You can find the installer at your Admin-Panel (Button on the Bookingoptions-Tab).

As you may have already read at our Twitter-Stream, we just implemented a new feature for all XAseco- and XAseco2-Servers called Database-Cleanup (short DC). This new feature makes it much easier to maintain your database.

What it does:
DC checks your database for tracks that are no more in the challengelist of your server. Then it automatically removes those tracks and their corresponding records and karma votes from the database.

Why should I clean up my database periodically?
Big databases slow down your servertool. That is why cleaning the DB is useful from time to time.

How does it work?

Today we had to perform a reboot on the hostsystem Cluster7 (after 177 days uptime) to replace the power supply. The hostsystem is now up and running in diagnostics mode. You may restart your server when the hostsystem becomes fully available.

Today we updated the core server version to 2012-01-17 that comes with our server package 3.8.2. This update contains only some minor fixes that are not very important but nice to have. Anyway - We always recommend to use the latest version.

Changes (Quote taken from Maniaplanet-Forums):

• a few changes for server hosting administration:
  - GetMainServerPlayerInfo() returns the local player when the server is not started, instead of an error;
  - a few members of the ServerOptions structure where made optional: NextLadderMode, NextVehicleNetQuality and AutoSaveReplays);
  - fixed /noautoquit
  - StartServerInternet() no longer need any parameters, it always use the current account. (I just noticed forgot to fully update doc.)


• increased the XmlRpc maximum packet size To 1Mo to support the now bigger maps. (but note that while its convienient to shove the maps though this communication channel, its not really optimal... And that very big maps with many ghosts and such, still wont fit.)

This is for TM2-Servers only!
We recently updated all hostsystems to Xaseco2 v1.0. This was a required update to stay compatible to all future plugins. The update contains some important performance optimizations.

To get it working on your server, please check the following list:

1. Go to the Admin-Panel of your server and open the Configuration-Editor.
2. Copy the content of all files you have changed to files on your local harddisk to make sure you have a backup.
3. Now restore these original files: config.xml, dedimania.xml, adminops.xml, records_eyepiece.xml
4. Then go to the Xaseco2-Tab of the Admin-Panel and disable all plugins except Records-Eyepiece, FuFi-Menu and Mania-Records
5. Restart your servertool (This will take ~3 Minutes)
6. Now you can start configuring your plugins as usual.

What to do if XAseco2 v1.0 does not show up after restarting it...
Go to: Admin-Panel - Advanced Settings - Raw Servercommands - Advanced Commandline and enter reset customcfg to get all the new config files that are required for v1.0 installed on your server. This will also remove all changes on the servertool that supervisors made for you, but if Xaseco2 does not start up, this step is required!

We know, it makes a lot of work to reconfigure the plugins, but there is currently no way around it.

On Monday, 16th January between 14 and 16h (2pm-4pm) we will update all XAseco2-Installations to v1.0. There were some major changes on the config.xml, so make sure to restore the original file before you reboot your server on Monday. This applies to TM2-Servers only.

Update 15:28:
Cluster 9 and higher are already updated. Lower clusters following.

Update 17:30:
Cluster 12+14 must be rebooted for the update. We will perform this step at nighttime and your servers will be automatically restarted.

Update 17:55:
Cluster 4,5,6,7,8 Updates are ready for distribution, but we are running into the peak hours. That is why the update can not be activated before tomorrow 10am. All other hostsystems can use the update now.

Very important notes - Read carefully:
If you can not boot XAseco2 v1.0, you probably have customized some configuration files that point to the old version 0.98. In that case go to the Admin-Panel - Bookingoptions - Advanced Settings - Raw Servercommands - Advanced Commandline and type reset customcfg. This will restore ALL original configuration files. Be sure that you have a backup of your custom files stored on your local harddisk. This operation can not be undone.

How to get it:
- Restart your server (complete restart is required)
- Go to the Bookingoptions-Tab at the Admin-Panel
- Scroll down and click the Link to the statistics page

We recently fixed a bug in the Config-Editor: Sometimes the servertool did not restart correctly after restarting it via the button at the Config-Editor when using a custom server account. The problem is solved now.

From now the bugtracker of your server analyses your logfiles for the most common warnings and errors and gives you hints on how to solve these problems. You can view the possible solutions at the bottom of the bugtracker interface at your Admin-Panel.

Today we introduced a new feature at the Admin-Panel. We replaced the old Log-Files-Button with the bugtracker that helps you to find bugs at your config- and logfiles. Logfiles are now limited to the last 200 lines (loads much faster), a link to download the complete logs will follow within the next days.

Important update for TM2-Servers with music:
If you use music on your server, you MUST activate the Musicserver-Plugin at your Admin-Panel now! Otherwise the music will not play.
